Overview

Magnesium bisglycinate (also called magnesium diglycinate or magnesium glycinate) is a chelate in which one magnesium ion is bound to two molecules of the amino acid glycine. It is a white to off-white solid used as a magnesium source in food supplements. Magnesium itself is an essential mineral that acts as a cofactor in a large number of enzymatic reactions and is studied in connection with energy metabolism, neuromuscular function and bone tissue. This description is informational only and does not imply any health effect.
